The Minutewomen matchup with the Bears on Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis hits the road for a matchup with Brown University on Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m., in Providence, Rhode Island.
Last Time Out
After falling to Yale, 4-2, on the road, the Minutewomen bounced back for back-to-back 4-0 victories in Sunday's doubleheader against Lehigh and Siena.
Against Lehigh, Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul started the day off with 6-0 win at No. 1, before Mariana Campino and Renata Farima clinched the doubles point at court No. 3 with a 6-3 triumph. UMass picked up singles victories at No. 4, No. 1 and No. 3, as Amelia Tye earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at court No. 4. Hack won 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, while Campino clinched the match with a 7-5, 7-5 win on No. 3.
Continuing their success on the day against Siena, the Minutewomen collected wins a No. 3 and No. 1 doubles, with Campino and Farima winning 6-1, and Hack and Jonglertrakul defeating their opponents, 6-3, respectively. In singles competition, Campino downed her opponent 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4, before Jonglertrakul won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Hack clinched the match with a decisive 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles.
Scouting Brown
The Bears hold an 8-5 overall record on the season, including a 6-0 record at home. Brown is currently on a four-match win streak and are coming off a 4-0 sweep against St. John's last Sunday at home. Additionally, on its home turf, Brown has defeated Portland (4-3), Villanova (6-1), Holy Cross (7-0), Bryant (6-1) and Fordham (5-2).
