Tennis Falls To Toledo, 5-2, On The Road

Pavissich and Farima earn points for the Minutewomen in the loss.
TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Massachusetts tennis fell to Mid-American Conference foe Toledo, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon.
The Minutewomen moved to 15-4 on the season and 6-1 in MAC play, while the Rockets improved to 10-8 overall and 5-2 in the league.
Toledo claimed the doubles point with wins at courts No. 1 and No. 2. Isabella Barretto and Neha Guru of Toledo took down Ella Faessler and Renata Farima, 6-1, at No. 1, before the Rockets' Anastasia Akuginova and Gaby Rondon defeated Amelia Tye and Amanda de Oliveira, 6-4, at No. 2 doubles.
The Rockets' JJ Scholten won, 6-3, 6-2, over Tye at No. 2 singles, before Rondon of Toledo earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Madara Markevica at court No. 6. Martina Pavissich claimed a point for UMass at the No. 3 slot, winning 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 over Jone Ibanez of Toledo. Farima picked up the second point for the Minutewomen after downing Toledo's Annika Munson, 7-5, 6-4, at the No. 5 position.
Toledo was able to grab the final two points of the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 4.
Massachusetts concludes the regular season on Sunday, April 19, as the Minutewomen host Buffalo at 12 p.m. in Amherst, Massachusetts.
