Tennis Drops 6-1 Match At Brown

Mariana Campino earned the lone point of the day for the Minutewomen.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Massachusetts tennis dropped a 6-1 decision to Brown University on Saturday morning.
Brown grabbed the doubles point as the Bears earned wins at courts No. 1 and No. 2. Phoebe Peus and Lindsey Hofflander of Brown defeated partners Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Brown's Ali Benedetto and Addison Ahlstrom downed Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye, 6-0, at No. 2.
The Bears went on to win five of the six singles matches, with victories at courts No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6. Mariana Campino claimed the lone point for the Minutewomen, defeating Dani Ben-Abraham of Brown, 7-6(3), 6-3, at No. 4 singles.
Massachusetts begins Atlantic 10 Conference competition with Davidson on Thursday, March 21, in Davidson, North Carolina, at 3 p.m.
