Faessler and Tye Wrap Up Competition At The 2025 MAC Individual Championships

The duo competed in the Doubles Championships on the final day of the event.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye wrapped up the 2025 Individual Mid-American Conference Championships for the University of Massachusetts tennis team after playing in the Doubles Championship match on Sunday afternoon.

The pair earned a spot to Sunday's finals, taking on Ball State's Sarah Shahbaz and Isabel Tanjuatco. Faessler and Tye fell, 8-3, to their opponents on the final day of competition.

The Minutewomen are back in action on Thursday, October 9 through Tuesday, October 14, for the New England Regionals, hosted by Harvard, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
 

DAY TWO
Duo Of Faessler And Tye Advance To Doubles Finals At 2025 MAC Individual Championships

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The University of Massachusetts tennis duo of Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye earned a spot to the Doubles Finals of the 2025 Individual Mid-American Conference Championships to highlight day two of competition at the event.

Faessler and Tye started the day with an 8-5 win over Gabriella Barrera and Alana Bristow of Ball State in the Doubles Quarterfinals to advance to the Semifinals.

In the Semifinals, Faessler and Tye defeated Allie Faulkner and Maria Oliveira of Miami (OH), 8-6, to move on to the Championships.

De Oliveira and Pavissich played in the Consolation Matches of doubles. The pair fell to Western Michigan's Lola Gantz and Audrey Smitek, 8-2, in the round.

In singles action, Faessler faced Isabella Barretto of Toledo in the Quarterfinals, dropping the match 6-1, 6-0.

Tye competed in the Consolation Matches of singles, falling to Oliveira of Miami (OH), 0-6, 6-4, 6-2

Faessler and Tye will compete in the Doubles Championship match on Sunday, October 5, at either 12 p.m. or 1 p.m.



DAY ONE
Four Minutewomen Complete Day One At 2025 MAC Individual Championships
Faessler and Tye prepare for Doubles Quarterfinals, while Faessler sets for Singles Quarterfinals action.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Amanda de Oliveira, Ella Faessler, Martina Pavissich and Amelia Tye of the University of Massachusetts tennis team completed day one of the 2025 Individual Mid-American Conference Championships, hosted by Western Michigan, on Friday.

Faessler and Tye paired up for the First Round of the MAC doubles competition, while de Oliveira and Pavissich teamed up for the round. Faessler and Tye battled to an 8-6 victory over Eastern Michigan's Matilde Parreira and Sabrina Tolstova, helping the duo advance to the Quarterfinals on Saturday.

De Oliveira and Pavissich took on Sarah Shahbaz and Isabel Tanjuatco of Ball State, falling 8-0 to the MAC rival.

Faessler and Tye competed in Friday's First Round of the MAC singles competition. Faessler downed her opponent Qianyu Liu of Bowling Green, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to Quarterfinals. Tye fell, 6-4, 6-2, to Buffalo's Maria Glowacka on the day.

Faessler and Tye will team up for Quarterfinals in doubles play, starting at 9 a.m., on Saturday, October 4. De Oliveira and Pavissich follow as a duo at 10 a.m. in the Consolation doubles matches.

Faessler will play in the singles Quarterfinals Round beginning around 1 a.m., with Tye competing in the Consolation singles matches with a time to be determined.
