Softball Returns Home To Host Maine In Tuesday Doubleheader

Last Time Out
The Minutewomen split a four-game series on the road at Saint Joseph's over the weekend, picking up wins in games one and four in Philadelphia. Caroline Videtto finished 3-of-4 at the plate in a 3-1 game one win over the Hawks while Caroline Deem and Kendra Allen each helped drive in a run. UMass rallied back from down four runs in game four of the series to come away with a 12-9 win, led by a pair of hits from Kristina Day to go along with two RBI from Shields. Jenna Bradley also picked up her first collegiate win in the final game of the series.
Season Leaders
Amy Smith leads the Minutewomen with a .395 average at the plate through 15 games this season and has added nine RBI and 12 runs scored. Caroline Deem has driven in a team-high 12 runs on 13 hits this year while Jules Shields has brought in 11. In the circle, Jessie DiPasquale has made 13 starts and appearances for UMass, striking ut 63 batters in 63.0 innings of work.
The Opponent
Maine comes to Sortino Field tomorrow with a 6-12 record on the year, coming off series wins over UMass Lowell and Hartford during the last two weekends. Keely Clark leads Maine on the year with a .368 average on a team-best 14 hits while Izzy Niebias has driven in a team-leading 12 runs. Kyleigh O'Donnell heads the Maine pitching staff with a 6-2 record and a 2.79 ERA in 57.2 innings pitched.
