Tennis Places Four On CSC Academic All-District Team

Farima, Faessler, Tye and Pavissich earn the honor for their efforts in the classroom and on the court.
AMHERST, Mass. – Four members of the University of Massachusetts tennis team landed on the 2026 College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. Graduate student Renata Farima, senior Ella Faessler, junior Amelia Tye and sophomore Martina Pavissich all garnered the honor.
Faessler earns the accolade for the third straight year, while Farima, Tye and Pavissich collect the honor for the first time in their careers.
The accolade recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined efforts on the court and in the classroom. To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
In addition, Faessler has been selected as a CSC Academic All-America Finalist and advanced to the national ballot that will be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 2, 2026.
A native of Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, Farima is working towards her master's degree in management. She concluded the 2026 season with an 11-4 overall singles record, including a 7-1 record in the Mid-American Conference. She spent time at both court No. 5 and No. 6. In doubles, she partnered with Faessler, as the duo primarily played at No. 1. The pair finished with a 13-5 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the MAC.
Faessler, a Hilton Head, South Carolina, native is pursuing her bachelor's degree in biology. The senior spent most of her time at No. 1 singles, registering an overall record of 13-5, including a 7-1 MAC record. She paired up with Farima in doubles competition, posting a 13-5 record at No. 1 with a 6-2 mark in the league.
Earning an undergraduate degree in marketing, Tye put together an 11-7 singles record, primarily playing at the no. 2 slot, with a 7-1 MAC record. Tye partnered with Amanda de Oliveira in doubles play, as the duo went 8-7 at No. 2 and 1-4 in the conference.
Pavissich, a Santiago, Chile, native, is a dual major earning her bachelor's degree in education and psychology. She went 15-4 in singles competition, mostly playing in the No. 3 position, and 5-3 in the MAC. Partnered with Madara Markevica, the pair completed doubles action with a 17-3 record at court No. 3 and a 4-3 mark in the league.
