Massachusetts Tennis Adds Amanda de Oliveira

Native of Brazil will join the UMass tennis program in the fall of 2025.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis and head coach Juancarlos Nunez announced the addition of transfer Amanda de Oliveira to the Minutewomen for the 2025-26 campaign.
"We are excited to have Amanda join us here at UMass," said Nunez. "In getting to know her, her energy and positive attitude was clear to see. She is an experienced player that knows what it's like to compete at the Division I level in high positions in singles and doubles. I look forward to seeing the ways in which she will aid our team on and off the court this coming year. I can't wait to welcome her and all of our team members back to campus this Fall."
De Oliveira, a native of Caxias de Sul, Brazil, comes to Amherst after spending two seasons at the University of South Dakota. During her two years at South Dakota, she aided the Coyotes to a Summit League regular season title and tournament runner-ups in the 2023-24 season.
Additionally, de Oliveira and the Coyotes recorded consecutive double figure win seasons, going 10-9 in the 2024-25 season and 12-10 in the 2023-24 year. Last season, de Oliveira posted a 9-9 singles mark, primarily playing at the No. 2 and No.3 spots, while playing at No. 1 doubles going 5-8.
In her first season at South Dakota, de Oliveria went 9-10 in singles play at the No. 2 position and was 8-2 in doubles. She earned the All-Summit League honorable mention honors and was named to the Summit League Honor Roll.
"I'm looking forward to Amanda joining us on campus this fall," said assistant coach Hannah McColgan. "She's a passionate, driven individual, who we are thrilled to add to the team. It's going to be an excited fall semester. Go UMass!"
Prior to de Oliveira's collegiate career, she attended Colegio Saber. She was a member of the Brazilian National Team for five years and was the top-ranked player in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U categories. She represented Brazil at the Quebec and Czech Republic World Championships and won a bronze medal at the South American Championships in Colombia. De Oliveira was also a four-time Gerdau Cup Champion and a three-time Banana Bowl Champion.
