AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts softball team (9-22, 3-6 A-10) travels to Storrs to face The University of Connecticut (21-13) on Wednesday, April 9, followed by a three-game series against St. Bonaventure(4-26, 0-12 A-10) in Amherst from April 12-13. Start time on Wednesday is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader is set for a 12:00 p.m. start time. Action on Wednesday will be broadcasted on UConn+, with this weekend streaming live on ESPN+.

Last Time Out

The Minutewomen secured the win in the Wednesday matchup against Boston College. Senior Catcher Lydia Castro led the way for the Minutewomen with a standout performance at the plate, finishing 3-4 and just a triple shy of the cycle. She opened the scoring the an RBI double and later hit a go-ahead solo home run in the 7th inning. Rianin Keefe also sparked the offense with a lead off triple and scored twice, while Brook Musch and Sarah Keagy each contributed key hits for a 3-run 5th inning. Boston College tied the game in the 6th, but Castro's homer put UMass ahead, leading to their victory. Julianne Bolten started the game, and Hannah Stricher helped secure the win with 1.1 scoreless innings in relief. 

UMass did not play their scheduled 3-game series against Dayton over the weekend due to poor weather conditions. All three games on April 5 and 6 were canceled. 

Scouting the Field
The Huskies are coming off a three game conference series against Butler University, winning two of their three games. Boston College is batting .309 as a team with 297 hits and 219 runs. The Huskies next matchup is against the Minutewomen this Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 3:30 pm.

St. Bonaventure is looking for a win after being swept in their three game series against Loyola Chicago, out-scored by a composite score of 3-15. The Wolves' offense posts a .237 batting average, tallying 170 hits so far this season for 90 runs and 5 home runs. The Wolves hope to secure a win against Dayton in a home game at Joyce Field this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
