The Minutewomen open up Atlantic 10 action at Sortino Field on March 26-28 against Fordham.
BRIGHTON, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts softball team fell on the road at Boston College in five innings Friday afternoon, 10-0. The Minutewomen return to action on March 26 when they begin Atlantic 10 play with a four-game series at Sortino Field against Fordham.
Boston College took advantage of a pair of leadoff walks in the opening frame on their way to three runs. UMass pitcher Jessie DiPasquale settled in later in the inning, striking out two batters with a runner in scoring position to limit the Eagles. DiPasquale finished the game with six strikeouts in four innings of work in the circle.
The Eagles added a run in the second inning after a bases loaded walk before Jules Shields secured a fly ball out in left field to leave the bases loaded to end the second. BC added three runs in both the third and fourth inning to bring the score to a final 10-0.
