AMHERST, Mass. – The Massachusetts Minutewomen (11-27, 4-10 A-10) are set to play a double-header against URI (9-28, 3-14 A-10) Wednesday afternoon at Sortino Field. The first pitch is set for
2:00 p.m. Further in the week, UMass will make their way to the Bronx to play against the Fordham Rams (22-23, 12-8 A-10) on April 26- 27th in a three-game series. All five games this week will be broadcasted live on ESPN+
 
Last Time Out
?The UMass Minutewomen softball team is aiming to rebound after a series sweep by Loyola Chicago at Sortino Field this past weekend. UMass surrendered? two games on Friday, in a 5-0 and 6-5 decision. The series finale concluded in a 12-3 loss. The Minutewomen will look to make a strong final push in the last three conference series remaining on the 2025 slate.
 
Scouting The Field
As of April 22, 2025, the URI Rams softball team holds a (9-28, 3-14 A10) record and is on an 8-game losing streak. The team has struggled on both sides of the ball, with a 6.27 ERA and opponents hitting .327. URI currently ranks near the bottom of the A-10 standings.
 
Fordham softball holds a (22-23, 12-8 A10) record and ranks among the top teams in the conference. Neleh Nogay leads the offense with a .381 average, 45 hits, and 29 stolen bases, while Holly Beeman anchors the pitching staff with an 8–3 record and a 2.04 ERA.
