Massachusetts (20-34, 14-12 A-10) continued its momentum, claiming an 8-6 elimination game victory over Saint Joseph's (22-30, 14-12) in game six of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday afternoon at Bahoshy Field. The Minutewomen showed resilience, avoiding elimination and advancing to their first A-10 Semifinal since 2018. Senior Chloe Whittier has been the spark for the Minutewomen offensively in the A-10 Tournament, recording three RBIs on five hits including two home runs across three games. Junior Julianne Bolton has started all three games for Massachusetts in the A-10 Championship, recording seven strikeouts while allowing just one walk across 12.1 total innings of work.

Atlantic 10 Tournament History:

Massachusetts softball is no stranger to the Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament with 23 championship titles under their belt. The Minutewomen hold an 90-30 overall record, making their 35th A-10 Championship appearance. Friday's match-up against Saint Louis will be the Minutewomen's 120th game at the A-10 Championship and first semifinal appearance since 2018.

Billikens: The Billikens, who hold a 2-1 record against Massachusetts this season, lost their A-10 Championship opener with an 8-4 defeat to Loyola Chicago. Saint Louis is led offensively by fifth-year utility Cami Newbanks who leads the Billiken in batting average (.345), home runs (7) and RBI (43). The Billikens pitching rotation is led by Junior Taylor Hochman who leads the staff in wins (14), complete games (12) and innings pitched (158.1).
