Minutewomen Close Weekend With Victory Over George Mason

AMHERST, MASS. -- Massachusetts (12-26, 8-7 A-10) closed out the weekend with a win over Atlantic 10 foe George Mason (14-27, 5-10) on Sunday afternoon at Sortino Field.
Massachusetts earned a tight 2-1 wire-to-wire victory over George Mason to close the three-game series with a win. Freshman Hannah Streicher earned her first career win, allowing just four hits in a complete game outing in the circle. Streicher recorded a new career-high five strikeouts in her second start of the season for the Minutewomen. In what was primarily a pitchers dual, senior Jordyn Graime recorded the teams only RBIs of the day, driving in two runs on a single in the top of the fourth inning. Massachusetts would hold strong, edging out a narrow victory thanks to Streicher's performance and two spectacular grabs from outfielders Chloe Whitter and Payge Suggs.
