Massachusetts Defeats Radford On Day Two In Statesboro

STATESBORO, GA. -- Massachusetts (2-1) split two games for the second consecutive day at the Bash in The Boro, defeating Radford (2-1) in game one of the day, before falling to Georgia Southern (2-1) Saturday at Eagle Field.
Massachusetts opened day two in Statesboro by claiming a 7-2 victory over Radford. Junior transfer Lydia Castro drove out her first home run as a Minutewoman, plating two runs. Senior Chloe Whittier contributed at the plate recording two hits, including a two-RBI single in the top of the fourth. Abby Packard also had a multi-hit game, tallying two hits and two runs in the morning matchup. Junior Julianne Bolton earned the win from the circle, pitching a complete game for the second straight day, recording her first career shutout on Friday, Feb. 9 against Georgia Southern.
The Minutewomen fell 5-0 to Georgia Southern in Saturday's afternoon matchup. Senior Bella Pantoja recorded her first multi-hit game of the season, tallying two hits including a double. Freshman Odyssey Torres extended her hitting streak, reaching base in her first four games as a Minutewoman. Freshman Natalee Horton received the starting nod, pitching 2.2 innings before Jenna Bradley entered the game in relief duty.
