Massachusetts Fall To Merrimack On Final Day In Statesboro

STATESBORO, GA. -- Massachusetts (2-3) fell to regional foe Merrimack (1-4) in a tightly contested 3-1 game on Saturday at Eagle Field. 
 
Massachusetts freshman Hannah Streicher earned her first starting nod in the circle, allowing just two earned runs in six innings of work. Senior Chloe Whittier had an impressive day offensively, going 2-of-3 at the plate, including a double. Senior Bella Pantoja also made an impact, recording a double and an RBI on the day. 
 
Notable Numbers 
  • 1: Streicher made her Minutewomen debut, getting her first start from the circle. 
  • 2: The Minutewomen recorded two doubles on the day.
  • 2: Whittier had two hits against Merrimack, including a double.
