Massachusetts Softball Drops Contest Against RV Boston University, 3-1

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts softball team fell to the RV Boston University Terriers on Wednesday by a score of 3-1. The Minutewomen now sit at 14-24 on the season, while the Terriers improve to 38-7.
The Terriers scored two of their runs in the third inning, and added another tally in the fifth inning on an RBI triple. The Minutewomen got on the board in the bottom of the sixth, when Jules Shields hit an RBI double to score Bella Pantoja for the final run of the day.
Natalee Horton got the start in the circle, allowing two earned runs and putting in 2.0 innings of work before being relieved by Julianne Bolton, who logged two strikeouts and allowed three hits and one earned run in 3.0 innings. Jenna Bradley then entered the circle at the top of the sixth, throwing the remaining 2.0 innings.
The Minutewomen will hit the road this weekend for a three-game conference series against the Fordham Rams before returning home for a doubleheader against URI on Wednesday, April 26.
