Massachusetts Softball Falls Short In Series Finale Against St. Bonaventure

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts softball team dropped the final contest of their series against St. Bonaventure on Sunday afternoon, falling by a score of 2-1. The Bonnies now improve to 9-25-1 (4-11 A-10), while the Minutewomen stay at 14-23 (5-9 A-10).
The Bonnies scored both of their runs in the third inning. The Minutewomen threatened a comeback when Bella Pantoja hit an RBI single down the left field line, scoring Emily Whelan in the bottom of the fifth, but could not pull out the victory.
Julianne Bolton threw all 7.0 innings in the circle, recording eight strikeouts and allowing six hits on the afternoon.
UMass softball returns to the diamond on Wednesday, April 19 at 3 p.m. when they take on the Boston University Terriers before heading to the Bronx for a three-game series against Fordham on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23.
