Massachusetts Softball Falls To UMass Lowell, 3-0

LOWELL, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts softball team took on the UMass Lowell River Hawks on Wednesday afternoon, falling by a score of 3 to 0. The Minutewomen now sit at 7-15 on the season, while the River Hawks improve to 9-12-1.
The River Hawks opened up the day with a Morgan Fisher 2 RBI home run in the bottom of the first, scoring herself and Tori Mueller. Mya Case then rounded out scoring with a 1 RBI home run at the bottom of the sixth.
Sarah Keagy went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Bella Pantoja, Jules Shields, and Julianne Bolton each recorded a hit in the contest.
Bolton began the game in the circle, recording nine strikeouts, including an eight strikeout streak from the first to fourth innings, and allowing three earned runs in 5.0 innings. Jessie DiPasquale then took over, throwing the remaining 1.0 inning. She recorded a strikeout to end the game.
The Minutewomen will continue Atlantic 10 action on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 as they head to Dayton, Ohio for three against the Flyers.
