AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts softball team concludes its six-game homestand tomorrow with a matchup at Sortino Field against UConn at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.

Against The Huskies
UMass defeated UConn 13-3 in the last meeting between the two teams on April 3, 2019 in Storrs, Conn. Nine different Minutewomen recorded a base hit in the win, including Kendra Allen, who finished 1-for-3 at the plate. The Minutewomen hold a 38-32 series advantage over the Huskies and have won three of the last five meetings.

Minutewomen Leaders
Payge Suggs leads the Minutewomen in batting average at .328 and on-base percentage at .456 while Bella Pantoja owns team-best marks in hits (33), runs (20) and total bases (42) to go along with a .324 average at the plate. Kendra Allen has driven in a team-leading 22 runs as one of three Minutewomen to start in every game this season. In the circle, Jessie DiPasquale has thrown a team-leading 85.2 innings with 67 strikeouts while Julianne Bolton leads the team in wins with five in 55.1 innings of work.

Youth Movement
The Minutewomen started seven freshmen or sophomores in Sunday's series finale against Fordham. In Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of Maine, multiple Minutewomen picked up collegiate firsts as Taylor Richardson and Olivia Guindon picked up their first collegiate hits. In Saturday's doubleheader cap against Fordham, Giana Wameling tallied her first career hit on her way to posting a multi-hit game to finish with a .444 average on the week.

Last Week's Action
The Minutewomen picked up a doubleheader sweep of Maine last Wednesday at Sortino Field. Grace Cadden drove in a pair of runs on two hits in a 7-4 game one win while Emily Whelan added a pair of RBI. Julianne Bolton tossed six innings of one-hit softball in a 4-2 game two win with Jenna Bradley closing out the game with her first save of the season. Kendra Allen paced the UMass offense with a pair of RBI on two hits while Chloe Whittier and Giana Wameling each brought home a run. UMass fell to Fordham in the three-game Atlantic 10 series over the weekend.

Looking Ahead
UMass hits the road this weekend for a three-game series in Fairfax, Va. at George Mason with the series set to begin on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Minutewomen then head to Boston for a midweek matchup against the Terriers on Wed., April 13 before returning home for six of their next seven games beginning with St. Bonaventure on Fri., April 15.
