AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts softball team hosts St. Bonaventure for three games of Atlantic 10 action this weekend at Sortino Field. The Minutewomen and Bonnies open the series on Friday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on ESPN+.

Against The Bonnies
UMass last matched up against St. Bonaventure during the 2019 season and went 2-0 against the Bonnies during the shortened series. The Minutewomen picked up a 5-1 game one win before a 5-4 win in game two while Amy Smith picked up a pair of walks in the doubleheader finale.

Last League Series
The Minutewomen went 2-1 last weekend in Atlantic 10 action at George Mason. UMass swept Sunday's doubleheader to win the series behind a 5-1 win in game one before a 4-2 victory in game two. Amy Smith and Kendra Allen each finished with multi-hit performances in game one and added RBI along with Chloe Whittier and Sarah Keagy. Jessie DiPasquale recorded her fifth win in the circle, going all seven innings with four strikeouts and just four hits allowed. In the game two win, Grace Cadden opened the scoring with her first collegiate home run before a pair of sacrifice flies by Smith and Emily Whelan made it a 4-2 finale. Julianne Bolton struck out nine in the win with just two walks.

Striking 'Em Out
Jessie DiPasquale recorded seven strikeouts in Wednesday's loss at BU and surrendered just two earned runs in the six-inning effort. The performance marked the third time this season that DiPasquale has struck out seven or more batters with her season-high of 10 strikeouts coming in the season opener on Feb. 11 against NC Central.

Amy Gets On Base
Amy Smith posted a .636 on-base percentage over three games last weekend to go along with a .400 batting average. Smith earned five walks in three games to give her 20 on the year to rank second-most on the squad and third in the Atlantic 10 in walks per game. The graduate student also holds the longest active reached base streak on the team at nine games.

Home Sweet Home
The Minutewomen play eight of their next nine games at Sortino Field beginning with St. Bonaventure on Friday. UMass wraps up the Rhode Island series on the road on Tuesday before five straight at Sortino Field. The Minutewomen take on UMass Lowell on April 20 and Dartmouth on April 27 in non-conference play with a three-game series against Saint Joseph's between on April 23-24.
