The Minutewomen won game one 7-4 and completed the sweep with a 4-2 victory in game two.
Game One – UMass 7, Maine 4
The UMass offense finished with 10 hits in a game one win led by two each from Bella Pantoja, Kristina Day and Grace Cadden. The Minutewomen jumped out to a 4-0 lead before a four-run fifth inning for Maine tied it at 4-4.
Taylor Richardson helped get a three-run second inning for the Minutewomen started with her first career hit after a Cadden walk put two runners on for Pantoja. Pantoja came through with a RBI single for the game's first run before an Emily Whelan two-RBI single through the left side made it a 3-0 game.
Kristina Day added UMass' fourth run in the fourth frame with a sacrifice fly to deep right field to bring in Pantoja to make it 4-0.
Maine tied things up with four runs in the fifth inning with the help of a three-run home run from Gabby Papushka.
UMass answered back immediately with two runs in the bottom half on a Cadden two-RBI single up the middle to make it 6-4. The Minutewomen tacked on one more in the sixth as Chloe Whittier drove in Day on a double to center.
Jessie DiPasquale picked up her fourth win in the circle on the year after throwing all seven innings with five strikeouts and one earned run allowed.
Game Two – UMass 4, Maine 2
Julianne Bolton threw six innings of one-hit softball to get her fifth win of the year for the Minutewomen. The freshman went 3.2 innings without allowing a hit before Maine got on the board with a two-run home run for their first of two hits in the doubleheader finale.
