Last Time Out
The Minutewomen put together a 5-0 weekend at the Purple and Gold Invite in Greenville, N.C. last time out, outscoring their opponents 25-5 in the process of moving to 8-7 on the year. UMass opened the weekend on Friday by picking up an extra-inning win over Winthrop in the final game of the day, carrying that momentum into another one-run win over the Eagles on Saturday before shutting out the hosts East Carolina 5-0. As a team, the Minutewomen posted a .301 average at the plate with a .390 on-base percentage while the pitchers compiled a 1.03 ERA in 34 innings of work.

The Opponents
UMass opens up its weekend against newly No. 23-ranked Wisconsin (17-2) before taking on USF (12-9) on their home field Friday afternoon. Day two features matchups against Villanova (7-9) and Seton Hall (7-6) with the Minutewomen holding a 3-1 all-time advantage over the Wildcats heading into their first meeting since 2006 while owning a 5-1 all-time record over Seton Hall after a 1-0 victory over the Pirates behind a RBI from Stavinoha in 2017. The weekend wraps up against Western Michigan (2-8) in the first ever matchup between the two programs.

Atlantic 10 Weekly Honors
Kaitlyn Stavinoha and Kiara Oliver each picked up an Atlantic 10 weekly award as Stavinoha was tabbed the A-10 Player of the Week while Oliver earned her fourth A-10 Pitcher of the Week award of her career. Stavinoha batted .500 with three multi-hit and multi-RBI performances in five contests, going 3-of-4 at. the plate with two RBI and two doubles in a win over Winthrop on Friday. Oliver took a pair of no-hit bids into the sixth inning in starts against Columbia and East Carolina, finishing the week 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, two saves and 11 strikeouts in 16.0 innings in the circle.

Finding Their Groove
The UMass pitching staff allowed just five runs over five games last weekend for a combined team ERA of 1.03. In addition Oliver's 2-0 week in the circle, Quinn Breidenbach went 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 14.0 innings of action, surrendering just two walks and three earned runs on her way to picking up a pair of wins over Columbia to go along with a win over Winthrop. On the season as a staff, the Minutewomen have a. 2.76 team ERA while. allowing just 20 walks through 15 games.

Familiar Face
The Minutewomen will take on Villanova at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, where 2018 UMass All-American and A-10 Player of the Year Jena Cozza is serving as a volunteer assistant coach.
