Minutewomen Drop Mid-Week Contest to Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Massachusetts (6-21) fell short against Bryant (11-14) on Wednesday, dropping a 4-1 decision on the road.
Lily Woodworth, Riley Kairer, Grace Colucci, Taylor Richardson, and Brooke Musch each tallied hits for the Minutewomen. Hannah Streicher started in the circle for Massachusetts, pitching four innings and striking out three batters. Julianne Bolton threw two scoreless innings in relief, tallying two strikeouts.
UMass was unable to overcome two home runs by the Bulldogs, surging the Bryant offense with three of their four runs. Massachusetts answered in the bottom of the fourth inning when Musch brought home Colucci off a sacrifice fly to make it a 2-1 ball game.

Massachusetts travels to Fairfax, Va. to take on George Mason this weekend from Mar. 29-30 in a three-game series. Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. The series finale on Sunday is also slated for a Noon start time. Action for all three games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
