BRONX, N.Y. - Massachusetts continues in the second round of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship facing the No. 1-seeded Dayton Flyers on Thursday, May 9 at 10:00 p.m. at the Bahoshy Softball Complex in Bronx, NY in the tournaments opening matchup. Tournament information, links and live updates can be found at umassathletics.com and @umasssoftball on X (Twitter). **Due to inclement weather first pitch for tomorrow's matchup vs. Dayton has been moved to 10:00 a.m.**

Last Time Out:

The Minutewomen come into the matchup fresh off a dominant 8-4 victory over Fordham in the A-10 Tournament's opening game. Senior Sarah Keagy continued bring the power offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate with two home runs, five RBI and a walk in round one. In the circle, junior Julianne Bolton continues to be a strong presence, striking out four while allowing just two earned runs across 7.0 innings. 

Atlantic 10 Tournament History:

Massachusetts softball is no stranger to the Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament with 23 championships under their belt. The Minutewomen hold an 89-29 overall record, making their 35th A-10 Championship appearance.  Wednesday's match-up against Dayton will be the Minutewomen's 118th game at the A-10 Championship. 

Scouting The Flyers:

Flyers: The Minutewomen face perennial power Dayton, holding a 1-2 record against the Flyers this season. The Flyers enter Thursday after a first round bye, holding a 30-19 regular season record and 19-7 mark in A-10 play. Dayton ended the regular season with with a series win over No. 2-seeded Saint Louis, claiming 2-of-3 games on the weekend. Junior Maddie Kapsimalis drives the Flyers offense, leading the team in batting average (.349), home runs (8), and RBI (43). The Flyers pitching staff is led by sophomore Izzy Kemp, who leads the staff in ERA (1.91), strikeouts (123) and earned runs allowed (28).
