AMHERST, Mass. - UMass opens play against UAlbany for a midweek double header on Wednesday, March 27, before facing St. Bonaventure for a three-game series from March 29-30. Last Time Out:
The Minutewomen come into the week after claiming their first Atlantic 10 series victory of 2024 with two wins over Fordham. Junior Grace Cadden, lifted the Minutewomen to a game one victory, blasting a grand slam in the sixth inning to give Massachusetts a lead it would not surrender. Senior Sarah Keagy was the offensive catalyst for the Minutewomen in the two victories, going 6-of-12 from the plate while recording two home runs and seven runs batted in across the three-game series. The Acton, Massachusetts native put on a clinic in the first game of Friday's doubleheader, recording three hits including two home runs, while driving in a game-high six RBI.

2023 Rewind:
Massachusetts comes into 2024 after earning a 16-34 record a season ago. The Minutewomen return 13 players from the 2023 campaign including eight who played in over 30 games. At the plate, Massachusetts brings back Chloe Whitter who led the team in batting average (.315) and senior Bella Pantoja who paced the Minutemen in home runs (3) and runs batted in (24). On the rubber, Julianne Bolton comes back to Sortino Field after leading the pitching staff in innings pitched (112.0) and appearances (27.0).

Scouting The Field:

UAlbany: The Great Danes enter the midweek matchup after winning three games at the UMBC Spring Invite in Baltimore, Maryland. Graduate student, Wendi Hammond pitched two complete game shutouts at the tournament, including a no-hitter against Wisconsin on Saturday, March 16. Morgan Petty leads the Great Danes at the plate, batting .409 with seven home runs and 35 RBI.

St. Bonaventure: The Bonnies enter the weekend series after going claiming one win in game two of a three-game series against A-10 foe Rhode Island. Kymora Wang currently boasts the hottest bat for the Bonnies, sitting with a .333 batting average while tallying 16 hits and 11 RBI.
