Massachusetts Falls In Home Opener To UMass Lowell

AMHERST, MASS. -- Massachusetts (5-18, 1-2 A-10) fell in its home opener, dropping a 7-0 contest to UMass Lowell (4-14) on Wednesday afternoon at Sortino Field.
Junior Julianne Bolton earned her 10th start of the season from the circle, striking out four batters across 4.0 innings on the mound. The Minutewomen recorded two hits on the day, however couldn't capitalize with runners on-base allowing the River Hawks to claim a two-run advantage in the top of the third. Senior Jenna Bradley came on in relief, pitching 3.0 innings in the circle, allowing just two hits.
