AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse team begins a two-game stretch this week with a Wednesday afternoon matchup at La Salle. The Minutewomen and Explorers begin play at 2 p.m. on ESPN+ in Philadelphia.

Last Time Out
UMass capped off a 2-0 week with a 16-11 win over Saint Joseph's on Saturday in the A-10 home opener for the Minutewomen. Eight different Minutewomen finished in the scoring column, led by hat tricks from Kassidy Morris, Skylar Simmonds, and Delaney Rodriguez-Shaw. Catrina Tobin finished with eight saves, including a big stop to keep the game knotted at 7-7 before the UMass offense posted four unanswered goals in the final five minutes of the third quarter. 

Series History
Wednesday's game marks the 27th all-time matchup between the Minutewomen and the Explorers dating back to the first game in 1999. UMass holds a 25-1 series lead with La Salle's last win in the series coming by way of a 10-9 win April of 2010.

Hat Tricks For Days
Kassidy Morris has finished with six consecutive hat tricks dating back to her four goal, three assist performance against Brown on Feb. 17. Morris scored a career-high five goals in a 15-6 win at LIU and leads UMass in goals this season with 20. The redshirt sophomore ranks 37th nationally and second in the A-10 in goals per game at 3.29 and is 25th nationally in shots per contest.

The Century Mark
Fiona McGowan reached the century mark for her career with 100 goals after netting four last week. The attacker is 15 goals away from moving into a tie for 17th-most all-time in a career at UMass.

Movin' On Up
Audra Tosone moved into third all-time at UMass in career caused turnovers at George Mason on March 9, finishing with a pair of give her 88 for her career. The graduate currently has 90 caused turnovers and trails Kate Farnham's 95 for second-most all-time while Kristin St. Hilaire holds the program record with 115.

Quick Draw
Jordan Dean ranks second nationally and leads the Atlantic 10 in draw controls per game at 10.86. The junior has reached double-digits in draw controls in 5-of-7 games this season, including 17 against Holy Cross on Feb. 27. Dean currently ranks third all-time at UMass in career draw controls with 270 and trails Hannah Murphy's 310 for second all-time.

Helping Hand
Fiona McGowan moved into a tie for seventh most career assists at UMass with four last week at George Mason and added three more in Saturday's win over Saint Joseph's to bring her career count to 86. McGowan trails Cari Nickerson's 106 assists for sixth-most all-time at UMass. The graduate currently ranks 26th nationally and leads the A-10 this season in assists per game at 2.14.

Controlling The Game
UMass ranks fifth among Division I teams as a squad in draw controls per game at 17.57 while leading the A-10 in the category. The Minutewomen are seventh nationally in clearing percentage  and are 23rd among DI teams in turnovers per game.

First Hat Tricks
Caroline Whelan and Ava Connaughton each picked up their first collegiate hat tricks this season. Whelan finished with her first career hat trick against Holy Cross on Feb. 27 while Connaughton recorded hers on March 2 at LIU, finishing with three goals and an assist for four points on her way to being named the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Looking Ahead
The Minutewomen return home to Garber Field for their next two games after Wednesday's matchup in Philadelphia. UMass opens the two-game home stand with St. Bonaventure on Saturday at noon and hosts Davidson the following Saturday on March 30 for a noon start.
