Minutewomen Remain Undefeated in MAC Play With 14-4 Win at Eastern Michigan

April 11, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Massachusetts women's lacrosse team scored the final seven goals of the game to turn a 7-4 lead into a runaway 14-4 win on Saturday afternoon at Eastern Michigan. With their eighth straight win, the Minutewomen improve to 12-2 on the season and 5-0 in the MAC. The Eagles fall to 3-2 in conference play.

Kassidy Morris and Dylan Lyons each had four goals and two assists to lead the offense, Morris' eighth straight game with at least six points. Lyons finished with a hat trick for a fifth straight game and eighth time this season.

Katie Onderdonk scored twice while Ava Connaughton dished two assists.

"Really playing as a team out there was when we had success," said head coach Jana Drummond. "We were playing together, playing as one and really focusing on the details. Defensively, we did a great job of adding pressure, getting caused turnovers and getting the ball into the offensive zone. We had a really connected offense. Proud of their effort."

Defensively, the Minutewomen caused 17 of the Eagles' 24 turnovers, with five different players recording multiple caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Bayley Duffy had three to go with six caused turnovers and six saves on the afternoon as she improved her top five save percentage in the country to 51.2.

Cate Marshall collected a game-high 10 draw controls. Lil Hancock filled up the stat sheet with a goal, assist, groundball, draw control and two caused turnovers.

After UMass went up 2-0, Eastern Michigan responded with three of the next five goals to pull within 4-3 midway through the second quarter. But the Minutewomen answered with three straight goals. Lyons scored her second to get it started, and Molly Bruner had a nifty second-chance goal with just seconds left on the clock for a 7-3 halftime lead. Just 2:01 into the third, Eastern Michigan pulled within 7-4, but the Eagles wouldn't score the rest of the way. Lyons responded, then Morris scored all four of her goals consecutively – with 5:41, 5:09 and 1:21 left in the third, then 13:33 in the fourth – for an 12-4 lead. Onderdonk and Lyons rounded out the scoring late in the fourth, for the 14-4 final.

Final shots were 34-24 UMass with the Minutewomen holding a 25-17 edge in groundballs and 12-7 edge in draw controls.

UMass returns to action next Saturday for a matchup at Detroit Mercy. Gametime is set for 12 p.m.
