AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts softball team will head to Greenville, N.C. to wrap up non-conference tournament action this weekend as they are set for four contests at the Purple and Gold Invitational.
Last Time Out
The Minutewomen went 2-3 at the Dugout Club Classic, securing both wins on the weekend against Colgate. Bella Pantoja hit a .444 in the five contests and logged five RBIs. The junior also hit a double and a triple on the weekend. Jules Shields batted a .417 in 12 at bats, including three RBIs.
Julianne Bolton led the pitching squad last weekend, recording a 1.79 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched. The sophomore allowed four earned runs and struck out eleven batters. Jenna Bradley secured a complete game win in the circle, recording a 2.00 ERA in 7.0 innings pitched. Bradley strick out two batters and only allowed six hits.
In The Circle
Bolton currently holds a 3.18 ERA on the season in 39.2 innings pitched and striking out 34 batters. Jessie DiPasquale follows with a 3.79 ERA and 19 strikeouts on the season in 24.0 innings pitched.
On A Roll
The Minutewomen ended the weekend on a two-game win streak. In the wins, Jules Shields led the squad with a .571 average in 7 appearances at the plate. Shields tallied two RBIs in the two games. Giana Wameling went 3-for-6 in the pair of contests, recording one RBI.
Bolton and Bradley recorded wins in the circle, throwing 7.0 innings apiece. Bolton recorded six of her strikeouts on the weekend against Colgate, while Bradley logged both of her strikeouts against the Raiders.
