Minutewomen Fall To Colonials In Series Finale

The Minutewomen find out their conference postseason matchup Sunday evening.
AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts softball team fell to George Washington in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Sortino Field, 7-0. The Minutewomen will find out their conference postseason matchup this evening.
Julianne Bolton opened the game in the circle for the Minutewomen and went on to toss 4.1 innings with three strikeouts and six runs allowed. Bolton held the Colonials without a run or hit through the first two frames before a leadoff double led to the game's first run as GW scored twice to take a 2-0 lead in the third.
The Colonials scored four runs on five hits in the fifth to pull ahead 6-0 before going on to add a run in the seventh. Jenna Bradley entered the circle for the Minutewomen with the bases loaded and one out in the fifth and proceeded to get a pair of groundouts to end the inning with the bases loaded. Bradley threw 2.2 innings for the game and allowed no earned runs with no walks.
Sierra Lange got the win in the circle for the Colonials and finished the game with six strikeouts, one walk and no hits allowed in 7.0 innings of work.
