Championship Clinching Performance
- The Massachusetts Women's Lacrosse team closed the 2022 regular season at 15-2, and a perfect 9-0 in Atlantic 10 play with a 13-11 come from behind win over the Davidson Wildcats.
- Fiona McGowan nearly notched the socktrick today with five goals to lead the Minutewomen. Kelly Marra contributed two goals, while six other Minutewomen found the net.
- Senior Gina Carroll picked up her 15th win with four saves.
- Though they trailed most of the contest, the Minutewomen outshot the hosts 32-17, putting 25 on goal.
- The Minutewomen defense was still dominant, causing 21 Wildcat turnovers, and picking up 21 ground balls.
- UMass won 15 draw controls, led by the heroics of freshman Jordan Dean with seven draw controls on the day, with four straight in the fourth quarter that led to goals for the Minutewomen.

- Massachusetts captured the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title and will serve as both the host as well as the No. 1 overall seed entering next week's A-10 Women's Lacrosse Championship at Garber Field in Amherst, Mass. The six-team, single-elimination tournament begins Thursday, April 28 and will conclude with the championship final on Sunday, May 1, all streamed live via ESPN+
- The Minutewomen closed out the 2022 campaign with a league-best 15-2 overall mark along with an unbeaten 9-0 record in conference competition, securing the program's 10th consecutive regular-season title and 13th overall.
- Second-seeded Richmond (14-3) earned an opening round bye into the semifinals as well via a strong 8-1 record against A-10 competition. The Spiders will see their first action of the championship at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon following the conclusion of UMass' contest.
- Saint Joseph's (11-6) garnered the third overall seed behind a 7-2 mark in league play and will battle No. 6 George Washington (5-12, 3-6 A-10) at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 in the opening round; the winner will face No. 2 Richmond in Friday's late semifinal matchup.
- Davidson (12-4) slotted in as the No. 4 overall seed behind a 6-3 record within the A-10, and will square off against fifth overall Duquesne (7-9, 4-5 A-10) at 11 a.m. on Thursday for the right to challenge the top-seeded Minutewomen in the semifinals.
- George Washington clinched the sixth and final position within the championship over both VCU and La Salle by virtue of a head-to-head tiebreaker, thanks to an 11-5 road victory against the Explorers on Friday, April 1 as well as a 13-8 home win over VCU on Saturday, April 23.
