Minutewomen Wrap Up Non-Conference Play Wednesday Against Yale

Non-Conference Finale
The Minutewomen wrap up their eight-game non-conference schedule on Wednesday at Rudd Field againat Yale. The Bulldogs come into Wednesday's matchup with an 0-6 record having most recently fallen to Hofstra, 4-0. Ellie Rappole has scored a team-leading two goals and added an assist on the year for Yale while Reina Bonta and Alanna Butcher have both added a goal and an assist. Annie Welch has started five games in goal for the Bulldogs with 20 saves in 454 minutes of work.
Last Time Out
The Minutewomen played to a 0-0 draw in double overtime on Sunday at Northeastern. The shutout marked the second of the year for UMass and the first complete game shutout by Megan Olszewski, who entered the game in relief against UMass Lowell to complete the 3-0 combined shutout win. UMass pushed for the game's first goal of the game in the final moments of regulation, getting a nice look at goal on a Bella Recinos free kick in the 77th-minute that found Ella Curry for a header that bounced just wide. Chandler Pedolzky created a chance on goal in the 83rd-minute with a left-footed shot that was saved.
Five Match Unbeaten Streak
UMass comes into Wednesday's match against Yale on a five-match unbeaten streak dating back to the 3-0 win over UMass Lowell on Aug. 26. The Minutewomen added a 2-1 road win at BU on Aug. 29 and defeated Bryant in overtime on Sept. 2 to complete a stretch of three consecutive wins. UMass is 3-0-2 during the span after a pair of draws against Merrimack and Northeastern.
Conference Play On The Horizon
Atlantic 10 play opens up on Sunday, Sept. 19 at Duquesne in the first of 10 conference contests for the Minutewomen. UMass returns home following the league opener at Duquesne to host George Mason on Sept. 23 and Rhode Island on Sept. 26.
