The 0-0 draw extended the UMass unbeaten streak to five consecutive matches.
BROOKLINE, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to five games as they played to a 0-0 draw in double overtime at Northeastern on Sunday afternoon.
The Minutewomen recorded their second shutout of the season after shutting out UMass Lowell on August 26 to start the five-match unbeaten streak. UMass held the Huskies without a shot for the first 19 minutes of play.
Northeastern went on to attempt 21 shots with four on target that were all saved by UMass goalkeeper Megan Olszewski. The shutout marked her first career shutout after coming on in relief to complete the shutout against UMass Lowell.
UMass only attempted seven shots on the day and put one on target in the 83rd-minute as Chandler Pedolzky shook a defender and brought the ball to her left foot for a shot towards the middle of goal that was saved by Northeastern's Angeline Friel.
Ella Curry had a look at goal moments before in the 77th-minute after the Minutewomen earned a free kick in their attacking third. Bella Recinos played a free kick into the box and connected with Curry for a header that bounced just wide left of target.
The Minutewomen wrap up non-conference play on Wednesday at Rudd Field with a 1 p.m. match against Yale.
