Last Time Out
The Minutewomen played to a 1-1 draw in their last match on Sunday with Merrimack. The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the 31st-minute before Ashley Lamond's first collegiate goal in the 75th-minute tied the game at 1-1 to send the match to overtime. UMass outshot Merrimack 22-12 in the contest and had 13 corner kicks to the Warriors' two.
The Opponent
Northeastern comes into Sunday's matchup with a 3-2 record following three consecutive wins before a 1-0 loss at UMass Lowell on Sunday. Halle McCabe leads the Huskies with two goals while Alexis Legowski has scored once and dished out a pair of assists.
Minutewomen Among Atlantic 10 Leaders
Freshman Chandler Pedolzky ranks tied for the Atlantic 10 lead in assists with three through six contests and ranks tied for third in points with seven. Lauren Smida ranks sixth in the league in goals with three and is tied for the conference lead in game-winning goals with a pair.
Unbeaten Streak
The Minutewomen head into Sunday's matchup on a four-game unbeaten streak where they have compiled a 3-0-1 record during the span. The streak started off with a 3-0 win over UMass Lowell at Rudd field on Aug. 26 and continued at Boston University with a 2-1 win. UMass came back from down a goal early to beat BU and did the same in its next match against Bryant, with Lauren Smida scoring both game-winning goals to complete the comeback wins.
UMass Athletics Hall of Fame Weekend
UMass women's soccer alumna Holly Hellmuth-Wiles will be inducted into the UMass Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday evening. Hellmuth-Wiles was a two-time first-team all-American and three-time MAC Hermann Trophy finalist during her time in Amherst from 1989-92. She helped the Minutewomen to Elite Eight appearances during the 1989 and 1992 seasons and to a 52-18-6 overall record during her four year career.
