Switchin' It Up
The Minutewomen will now host St. Bonaventure at the BU Softball Field in Boston, Mass. and will open the three-game series with a single game on Saturday at 2 p.m. before a Sunday doubleheader beginning at noon.
Atlantic 10 Openers
UMass is a combined 5-1 over the last two series to open up Atlantic 10 play since 2017, sweeping La Salle at home last year in a series that was originally scheduled to be played in Philadelphia, Pa. while taking the series two games to one over George Washington the year prior.
Approaching The Top 10
Erin Stacevicz needs just one more hit to tie Candice Molinari (2004-07) for 10th all-time on the UMass career hit list as the senior heads into the opening weekend of A-10 play with 208 hits in her career. Stacevicz needs five hits to move into 5th all-time on the list while Kim Gutridge (1995-98) leads all UMass hitters in their careers with 262 hits. Stacevicz is also eight runs away from taking over 10th outright on the UMass career runs scored list.
UMass Leaders
Kaitlyn Stavinoha leads the Minutewomen in eight offensive categories through 23 games, including batting average (.370), RBI (15), slugging percentage (.630) and extra base hits (12). Hannah Bunker ranks second on the team in average with a .326 clip and on-base percentage with .436 while Kaycee Carbone has added a team-best mark in on-base percentage (.446) with the second-highest slugging percentage (.576).
Last Time Out
The Minutewomen were last in action on the same field where they will be hosting St. Bonaventure this weekend, falling to BU 3-1 at the BU Softball Field. Both Stacevicz and Bunker led the UMass offense with a pair of hits each while Kiara Oliver struck out 10 batters to give her double-digit strikeouts in two of her last four starts that have gone six innings or longer after setting a new career-high with 12 against Villanova.
