SECOND QUARTER
The Blue Hens pushed back in front by two with Andrew Romagnoli's 29th goal of the year at the 11:33 mark; however, Massachusetts responded with back-to-back conversions from sophomores Tyler Bogart and Ben Spencer, which included Spencer's fifth man-up tally of the year. Spencer's mark with 2:43 to go evened the game at 3-3 heading to halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
Buddy Carr gave the Minutemen the lead for the first time on the day with the opening tally of the third quarter. Jake Lisauskas dished to Carr toward the right of the goal before Carr tracked toward the middle and fired a left-handed shot by Delaware goalie Matt DeLuca.
Bogart added his second of the day in the third, sandwiched around Blue Hens goals by Steve DeLargy and Charlie Kitchen as Massachusetts and Delaware headed to the fourth knotted at 5-all.
FOURTH QUARTER
After DeLargy briefly gave the visitors a one-goal lead with 13:05 to go, Massachusetts took control of both ends of the field. Jake Marino evened the game with the short-stick defensive midfielder's fourth goal of the year before Jeffrey Trainor tallied during a 30-second shot clock situation for a 7-6 advantage with 8:31 to go.
Grant Consoletti and Trainor added breathing room of the Minutemen as the defense stymied Delaware's final four possessions.
