Salanger, Auble Collect All-New England Honors

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse sophomore goalkeeper Owen Salanger and senior defender Zach Auble have been selected to the 2026 All-New England teams, the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced on Wednesday. Salanger earned a first team spot, while Auble was selected to the second team.
Salanger, who was previously named an Honorable Mention USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention Inside Lacrosse All-American, the Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year and to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team, finished the season ranked seventh nationally in save percentage at 56.9% and third in the nation in saves per-game (14.00). The Liverpool, New York native started all 16 games for UMass in his sophomore campaign, posting a 10-6 record with a 10.68 goals against average and 223 saves. He averaged 15 saves per-game in A-10 action, holding a .581 save percentage and a 10.55 GAA.
A two-time Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week this season Salanger had 10 or more saves 15 times in 16 games, posting 15 or more stops seven times. He made 23 saves in a win over Brown, the most by a UMass goalkeeper in at least 25 years and the fourth highest save total by a goalkeeper in the nation this season.
Auble captured First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors and finished the season ranked ninth nationally in caused turnovers per-game (2.20). The Burlington, Massachusetts native saw action in all 16 games, recording seven points on a goal and six assists with a team-best 72 ground balls and 35 caused turnovers. In A-10 play Auble finished with 21 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers over five conference games to go along with two assists. He logged six games with five or more ground balls and five games with three or more caused turnovers this season.
