GREENVILLE, N.C. - University of Massachusetts softball fell to Saint Francis, 8-0, in six innings on Sunday, in the ECU Pirate Clash, in Greenville, N.C.

The Minutewomen fall to 2-6, while Saint Francis improves to 6-4 in 2016. Tara Klee picked up the loss in her first pitching appearance of 2016. Ketarah DeVries earned the win in the circle for Saint Francis.

Jordan Seneca and Madison Cabell led the Red Flash offense. Seneca went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, driving in two runs and scoring once. Cabell launched a three-run home run in the third inning for her only hit of the game.

UMass had a chance to get on the board in the top half of the first inning. The Minutewomen had the bases loaded in the frame, but couldn't put a runner home when sophomore Meg Colleran struck out to end the inning.

Massachusetts picked up their first hit in the fifth inning. After redshirt sophomore Jena Cozza led the inning with a walk, freshman Erin Stacevicz singled to end the no-hit threat.

The Minutewomen are back in action March 4-6 at the Red & Blue Classic, hosted by Ole Miss. Massachusetts' first game of the tournament will be against Belmont at 11 a.m. Fri., March 4.
