Women's Tennis Player Stephanie Price Named Atlantic 10 Rookie Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. -- The Atlantic 10 Conference announced this afternoon that freshman Stephanie Price (Columbia, Mo.) has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.
In her first collegiate action last weekend, Price won the first singles crown at the Eastern Collegiate Tournament held in West Point, N.Y. Unseeded entering the event, Price downed fifth-seeded Kim Barfuss of Seton Hall in straight sets to take the title. She earned a spot in the final with a straight set win over top-seeded Ioana Dragan of Fordham.
Price lettered in tennis for four seasons under coach Jill Martino at Hickman H.S. She was a four-year state medalist and left with a national ranking of 135.
The Minutewomen return to action Oct. 1, when they travel to Fordham for a 3:00 p.m. match.
