Campino Receives Two ITA New England Regional Awards

Mariana Campino tabbed Senior Player of the Year and Most Improved Player.
AMHERST, Mass. – Senior Mariana Campino of the University of Massachusetts tennis team received two ITA New England major awards, garnering the ITA Senior Player of the Year and the ITA Most Improved Player, as announced Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Campino becomes the second Minutewomen to earn the Senior Player of the Year award and the Most Improved Player honor. She also becomes the only Minutewomen in program history to receive both accolades.
Campino finished the season with a 10-4 singles record, including a 3-1 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Primarily competing at No. 1 singles, she put together an 8-3 overall record at the slot. The Pinhal Novo, Portugal, native posted a 10-5 doubles record, partnering mostly with Belle Jonglertrakul, splitting time between courts No. 1 and No. 2. The duo went 4-4 at the No. 1 slot and 4-1 at the No. 2 position. Campino landed on the A-10 All-Conference First Team and the A-10 All-Academic Team.
