UMass' Hogan And Salanger Earn All-America Honors From USA Lacrosse

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse senior attackman Trace Hogan and freshman goalkeeper Owen Salanger have been named Honorable Mention USA Lacrosse All-Americans, it was announced on Thursday. All-Americans were chosen by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors with input from coaches and conferences across the country. The Gorillas are one of 43 teams represented on this year's list.
Hogan, the first UMass player to reach the 50-point mark in a season since 2019, finished with a team-best 59 points on 28 goals and 31 assists over 15 games to go along with 24 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Overall, the Jupiter, Florida native ended the regular season 16th nationally in assists per-game, first in the Atlantic 10, while ranking fifth in the league in goals per-game (2.00) and first in points per-game (4.14). In league play he put up 20 points over five games to lead the A-10 in points-per-game (4.00) on eight goals and 12 assists. Hogan led the A-10 in assists per-game (2.40) in conference play, as well.
In his rookie season Salanger went 9-5 as starter and posted a 9.36 goals-against average and a .565 save percentage over 814 minutes in the cage with 32 ground balls. The Liverpool, N.Y. native currently ranks 10th in the nation in save percentage and 15th nationally in goals-against average. In five A-10 games, Salanger made 59 saves over 292 minutes and logged a 11.49 GAA and a .513 save percentage. In the UMass record book his 165 saves are third-most all-time for a freshman netminder.
