Five Massachusetts Men’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes Collect Atlantic 10 Postseason Accolades

AMHERST, Mass. – Five members of the Massachusetts men's lacrosse program have been recognized with postseason Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Awards, which were announced on Wednesday. Senior attackman Trace Hogan and junior defenseman Kyle Swanson were named to the All-Conference Second Team, freshman attackman Robbie Granara and freshman goalkeeper Owen Salanger earned spots on the All-Rookie team and junior attackman Aiden Drunsic was selected to the All-Academic Team.
Hogan, the first Gorilla to reach the 50-point mark in a season since 2019, has a team-best 30 points on 28 goals and 30 assists over 14 games to go along with 23 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Overall the Jupiter, Florida native finished the regular season 16th nationally in assists per-game, first in the Atlantic 10, while ranking fifth in the league in goals per-game (2.00) and first in points per-game (4.14). In league play he put up 20 points over five games to lead the A-10 in points-per-game (4.00) on eight goals and 12 assists. Hogan led the A-10 in assists per-game (2.40) in conference play, as well.
Swanson helped lead to a No. 14 national ranking in scoring defense, limiting opponents to 9.29 goals per-game and a man-down defense that sits fifth nationally at .795. The Evanston, Ill. native has appeared in all 14 games on the season and collected four ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Granara leads UMass in goals with 33 through 14 games and has a total of 42 points with nine assists, 23 ground balls and two caused turnovers. Five of his tallies have been game winners with four coming in man-up situations. He currently sits tied for fourth all-time in program history for goals by a freshman in a single season and has the sixth-most points by a freshman in program history with 42 to date. The Reading, Mass., native finished the regular season fourth in the A-10 in goals per-game at 2.36 and seventh in points per-game (3.00). In league play Granara posted 15 points on 12 goals and three assists, good for third in the conference in goals per-game (2.40) and ninth in points per-game (3.00).
Since coming into the season opener against Army in relief, Salanger has gone 9-4 as starter and posted a 8.98 goals-against average and a .577 save percentage over 802 minutes in the cage with 30 ground balls. The Liverpool, N.Y. native currently ranks eighth in the nation in save percentage, first in the A-10 and 13th nationally in goals-against average. In five league games, Salanger made 59 saves over 292 minutes and logged a 11.49 GAA and a .513 save percentage.
Drunsic, a finance major, is currently third on the team in scoring with 31 points on 25 goals and six assists over 14 games with 20 ground balls and three man-up tallies. The Exeter, N.H., native finished the regular season 10th in the Atlantic 10 in goals-per game at 1.79. In five A-10 contests, Drunsic put up 11 points on nine goals and two assists, good for third on the squad.
