Tennis Places Four On CSC Academic All-District Team

Hack, Campino, Farima and Faessler earn the accolade for their efforts in the classroom and on the court.
AMHERST, Mass. – Four members of the University of Massachusetts tennis team were placed on the 2024 College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Danielle Hack, juniors Mariana Campino and Renata Farima and sophomore Ella Faessler all collected the honor.
Hack earns the accolade for the second straight year, while Campino, Farima and Faessler garner the honor for the first time in their careers.
The accolade recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined efforts on the court and in the classroom. To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
A native of Surrey, England, Hack is working towards her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. The senior capped the 2024 season with a 14-6 singles record at the No. 1 position, with a perfect 4-0 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference. She finished with a doubles record of 12-8, primarily competing at No. 1 with teammate Thamonpan Jonglertrakul.
Campino, a Pinhal Novo, Portugal, native, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in microbiology. The junior finished the dual season with an 8-6 singles record, primarily spending time at court No. 4, going 5-4 overall. She split time at the No. 3 and No. 5 slots, holding a 3-0 record at No. 3 singles. In double competition, Campino partnered with Farima as the duo went 12-2 at No. 3 on the season, including an unblemished 4-0 record against A-10 Conference opponents.
Earning an undergraduate degree in operations and information management, Farima completed the dual season with a 3-0 singles record and a 12-2 doubles record. The Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, native, competed at No. 5 singles, primarily, going 1-0 in the A-10. She clinched the match point for the Minutewomen in the A-10 Championships to aid the team to its third title in program history. The juniors partnered with Campino in doubles competition, posting a 12-2 overall record at the No. 3 slot, which included a 4-0 mark in the A-10.
Faessler, a Hilton Head, South Carolina, native, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology. The sophomore split time between No. 2 and No. 3 singles, registering an overall record of 10-9, including a 3-2 A-10 record. At No. 3 singles, she went 6-4, while also playing one match at the No. 1 position, posting a winning record of 1-0. Faessler partnered with teammate Amelia Tye at No. 2 doubles, as the duo went 12-8 overall and 4-1 in the A-10.
