AMHERST, Mass. - UMass travels for it's final road swing of the regular season, facing Atlantic 10 foes Rhode Island (April 24) and George Washington (April 27-28) each at their home venues. Links and live updates can be found at umassathletics.com and @umasssoftball on X (Twitter).

Last Time Out:

The Minutewomen come into the week after a tough three-game series with conference opponent Loyola Chicago. Senior Sarah Keagy continues to be a catalyst at the plate, leading the team in home runs (8), RBI (23) and slugging percentage (.481). In the circle, junior Julianne Bolton continues to a consistent presence, leading the staff in games started (20), strikeouts (100) and complete games (10). 

2023 Rewind:

Massachusetts comes into 2024 after earning a 16-34 record a season ago. The Minutewomen return 13 players from the 2023 campaign including eight who played in over 30 games. At the plate, Massachusetts brings back Chloe Whitter who led the team in batting average (.315) and senior Bella Pantoja who paced the Minutemen in home runs (3) and runs batted in (24). On the rubber, Julianne Bolton comes back to Sortino Field after leading the pitching staff in innings pitched (112.0) and appearances (27.0).

Scouting The Field:

URI: The Rams enter the mid-week doubleheader with a 7-11 record in Atlantic 10 play, after claiming two games against George Washington last weekend. URI is powered by Graduate Student Elana Gonzalez who leads the squad in batting average (.205) and RBI (18). The Rams pitching staff is led by Ashley Hibbard, who leads the squad in ERA (3.20), appearances (29) and strikeouts (55).

George Washington:  George Washington comes into the weekend matchup with a 23-22 overall record and a 9-11 mark in A-10 play. The Revolutionaries offense is led by infielder Alena Ramirez who sits atop the team in batting average (.393), OPS (.945) and hits (48). Freshman Cece Smith leads GW in the circle, pacing the team in ERA (2.38), innings pitched (117.2) and
