Massachusetts Men's Lacrosse Alumnus Fiore To Be Inducted Into USA Lacrosse Long Island Metro Lacrosse Hall of Fame

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse alumnus Chris Fiore will be inducted into the USA Lacrosse Long Island Metro Lacrosse Hall of Fame on January 27. Fiore, an All-American midfielder for the Gorillas from 2000 to 2003, played eight seasons in Major League Lacrosse from 2004 to 2011.
 
Fiore capped his career at UMass by earning first team All-America recognition from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association in 2003 after being selected as an honorable mention All-American as a junior in 2002.
 
Fiore earned first-team recognition after scoring 46 points (35 goals, 11 assists) as a senior. He finished his UMass career with 115 points (83g, 32a) with 92 points (69g, 23a) coming over his final two years in Amherst.
 
The Freeport, New York native was named 2003 ECAC Offensive Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award that season. He served as a team captain in 2003 and was a two-time All-New England (2002 & 2003) and All-ECAC First Team (2002 & 2003) honoree.
 
Following his senior campaign at UMass, Fiore was drafted in the first round of the MLL Draft by Boston, going third overall to the Cannons. He went on to play 84 career regular season games in the MLL from 2004 to 2011 and amassed 172 points (117g, 44a) in those contests.
