UMass’ Tobin Tabbed Atlantic 10 Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse senior midfielder Mike Tobin has been selected as the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It marks the first career honor for Tobin and the third time a UMass player has been recognized this season.

Tobin helped the Gorillas secure the program's first-ever conference win as a member of the A-10, in a thrilling 12-10 win over High Point on Garber Field on Saturday. The Reading, Massachusetts native posted his first hat trick of the season and added an assist for a four-point afternoon. Two of his goals came in man-up situations, while he grabbed two ground balls and had two caused turnovers. Tobin scored the game winner, his third tally of the day with the score tied at 10-10 with 4:06 to play in regulation.

Through nine games on the season, Tobin ranks third on the squad in scoring with 19 points on eight goals and 11 assists.
