AMHERST, Mass. - The no. 13-ranked Massachusetts women's lacrosse team heads to Philadelphia for its final road game of the regular season on Saturday. The Minutewomen and Hawks begin play with a 12 p.m. draw on ESPN3.
Top-25 Rankings
The Minutewomen moved up yet another spot this week to no. 13 in the latest IWLCA/ILWomen Top-25 poll. UMass climbed from 24 to 20 after defeating A-10 foe Richmond in a top-25 matchup and moved up another four spots to 16 the following week earlier in the season.
Another Hatty
Charlotte Wilmoth leads UMass in goals this season with 35 and has posted five straight hat tricks to go along with 11 consecutive multi-goal games.
Causing Havoc
Senior defender Audra Tosone ranks seventh among Division I leaders in caused turnovers per game at 2.50. Tosone also ranks among the top-15 nationally at 13th in ground balls per game at 3.07.
On Target
Alex Finn ranks third nationally in shot percentage at .640 and is one of three Minutewomen in the top-25 in the category. Kassidy Morris (.571) and Charlotte Wilmoth (.565) rank 21st and 24th, respectively.
Fiona's Finds
Fiona McGowan has an Atlantic 10-leading 34 assists this season to rank 13th nationally in the category while her 2.43 assists is 10th among DI leaders. McGowan recorded a career-best six assists in Saturday's 15-7 win at VCU and has 10 multi-assist games this season.
Stay Winnin'
The Minutewomen hold a 13-1 record and the nation's sixth-best win percentage in Division I. UMass has a win percentage of .929 and is one of just six teams with one or less losses this season.
On The Draw
Sophomore Jordan Dean continues her move up the rankings in the UMass record book. Dean's 152 career draw controls ranks fifth-most all-time at UMass while her 101 this season is ninth-most in a single season by a Minutewoman. Dean needs just two more draw controls to pass Caitlin Petro's 2019 season for eighth all-time.
UMass Among National Team Leaders
UMass ranks second nationally in ground balls per game as a team with 20.71 while its scoring defense is fourth in the country at 8.07. The Minutewomen are sixth in the nation in draw control percentage at .603 and rank seventh in assists per game at an even eight.
Home Sweet Home
UMass is on an 11-game regular season winning streak at Garber Field dating back to last season. The Minutewomen won five consecutive regular season games on their home field last season and are 6-0 at Garber this year. UMass last lost a game at home on March 5, 2022 in non-conference play and hasn't lost a regular season league game at home since April 18, 2010.
Four-Time DPoW
Audra Tosone was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week a week ago for the fourth time this season. Tosone set a new program record with seven caused turnovers in a single game and secured seven ground balls in a win over Duquesne.
Looking Ahead
The Minutewomen conlcude the regular season on Saturday, April 29 at Garber Field against George Mason for Senior Day. UMass will take on the A-10 foe at 12 p.m. with Senior Day ceremonies to follow post-game.
