AMHERST, Mass. - The no. 16-ranked UMass women's lacrosse team returns home to Garber Field on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. matchup against La Salle. The matchup between the Minutewomen and Explorers marks the annual Hair Havoc game in a partnership with the HEADstrong Foundation.

Hair Havoc
Tomorrow's game marks the annual Hair Havoc game for the Minutewomen. UMass is partnering with the HEADstrong Foundation to raise funds and awareness for families impacted by cancer. Defensive Dominance
UMass ranks 16th nationally in scoring defense at 9.0 after allowing a season-low in goals in a 19-4 win at George Washington on Saturday. The Minutewomen also rank ninth among DI teams in scoring margin at 6.22 while their 19.11 ground balls per game ranks 11th nationally.

Top-25 Poll
The Minutewomen moved up four spots for the second straight week in the IWLCA Division I Top-25 Poll. UMass climbed from 24 to 20 after defeating A-10 foe Richmond in a top-25 matchup and moved up another four spots to 16 after two wins last week.

Three-Time DPoW
Audra Tosone earned her third Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season on Monday after collecting five ground balls, causing five turnovers, and securing three draw controls in a pair of wins last week. Tosone capped off the week by forcing a game-high four turnovers and helping the defense hold GW without a goal in the second and third quarters of a 19-4 win.

Minutewomen Among National Leaders
Audra Tosone ranks sixth nationally in caused turnovers per game at 2.56 and is 15th in the country in ground balls per game with 3.00. Fiona McGowan is top-20 in multiple offensive categories, including ranking 16th in assists with 20 and 19th in points with 39. McGowan also ranks 21st in assists per game at 2.22 while Alex Finn is 25th in shot percentage at .594.

Stay Winnin'
The Minutewomen are in the midst of a seven-game win streak and rank fifth nationally in win percentage at .889. 

Home Sweet Home
UMass is on a nine-game regular season winning streak at Garber Field dating back to last season. The Minutewomen won five consecutive regular season games on their home field last season and are 4-0 at Garber this year. UMass last lost a game at home on March 5, 2022 in non-conference play and hasn't lost a regular season league game at home since April 18, 2010. 

Count 'Em
Gina Carroll surpassed 200 saves for her career after picking up a pair of saves in Saturday's win at George Washington. 

The Century Mark
Sophomore Jordan Dean recorded a career-high 13 draw controls in Saturday's win at GW to help her surpass the 100 career draw control mark. Dean is just two draw controls away from surpassing her career-high in the category and currentlty has 50 for the season.

Looking Ahead
The Minutewomen play their next two games on the road following Wednesday's game, beginning with a weekend tilt at St. Bonaventure on Saturday. UMass concludes the two-game road trip at Davidson on Saturday, April 1 at noon before returning home on April 8 to host Duquesne.
