Softball Announces Six Newcomers As Part Of The Class Of 2024

AMHERST, Mass. -- The Massachusetts softball program welcomed six freshmen as part of its 2024 recruiting class on National Signing Day. Olivia Cutuli (Londonderry, NH), Kate Heslin (Lake Hopatcong, NJ), Brooke Musch (Camden, NY), Ella Stevinson (Green Brook, NJ), Sophia Thormeyer (Frankfort, Ill), and Lily Woodworth (Glastonbury, CT) will join the Minutewomen for the 2024-25 season, head coach Danielle Henderson and her staff announced Thursday. 
 
"I am excited welcome this class to the UMass Softball Family!, head coach Danielle Henderson said." "They will be a great addition offensively and will continue to enrich the culture of our program." 
 
Olivia Cutuli comes to Amherst from Londonderry, New Hampshire where she has starred both in the outfield and on the mound. A versatile athlete, Cutuli earned First Team All-New Hampshire selection following the 2023 high school season. 
 
Kate Heslin signs with the Minutewomen after three decorated seasons as a catcher for Morris Catholic High School. Heslin has starred all three years of her high school career, earning Morris County MVP her freshman year before going on to receive all-conference honors in 2020, 2021 and 2022. 
 
Brooke Musch commits to Massachusetts as an outfielder out of Camden, New York. A three-sport star, Musch has earned Tri-Valley league All-Star honors in softball, volleyball and soccer during her high school career. On the softball diamond, Musch has collected numerous honors including Tri-Valley League Player of The Year, first team All-Mohawk Valley, first team Section lll All-Star, first team All-Central New York, Central New York small School Player of The Year and 2023 Camden High School Female Athlete of the year. 
 
Ella Stevinson joins the Massachusetts class of 2024 out of Glen Brook, New Jersey. Primarily playing first base, Stevinson has received all-conference and division selection every season of her high school career. Playing Watchung Hills Regional High School, Stevinson has all received all-conference honors as a tennis student-athlete. 
 
Sophia Thormeyer signed with Massachusetts as a utility player from Frankfort, Illinois. Attending Providence Catholic High School, Thormeyer earned all-conference selection following her junior season. A talented student-athlete on and off the field, Thormeyer is also a member of the National Honor Society. 
 
Lily Woodworth closes out the current class of 2024, joining the Minutewomen from Glastonbury, Connecticut. A New England native, Woodworth was selected as an all-state selection for 2023. A shortstop by trade, Woodworth made the transition to softball after breaking barriers playing baseball at Glastonbury High School. In addition to her skills on the diamond, Woodworth is a member of the National Honors Society. 
 
The six exciting newcomers will join the Minutewomen for the 2024-25 campaign following their final year of high school.
