AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's soccer team hosts Sacred Heart tomorrow at 4 p.m. on Rudd Field for the home opener. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Minutemen battled to a 1-1 draw in the season opener on Thursday at Northeastern. Nick Zielonka's second career goal equalized in the 73rd-minute after the Huskies took the lead eight minutes earlier. UMass held a seven to three shots on goal advantage and went the first 54 minutes without surrendering a shot on target.

Home Openers
The Minutemen have picked up two wins and a draw in their last three home openers dating back to 2019. UMass drew with Northeastern a year ago and picked up a 2-0 win over Hofstra during the 2020-21 campaign following a 4-0 win over Sacred Heart in the 2019 home opener.

Zielonka's Strike
Zielonka's second career goal for the Minutemen on Thursday was a beauty as the junior put home a right-footed strike off a volley to help UMass to a 1-1 draw on the road. Alec Hughes earned his fifth career assist on the goal.

Fort Rudd
UMass holds a 23-14-7 record at home over the last five seasons after posting a 2-2-4 mark on Rudd Field a season ago. In 2017, the Minutemen posted a 10-2-1 record on their home pitch.

Looking Ahead
The Minutemen host Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. on Rudd Field before hitting the road on Sept. 7 to take on Central Connecticut State. UMass will then return home on Saturday, Sept. 10 for a matchup against Boston University prior to hitting the road for its next two contests.
