AMHERST, Mass. — The University of Massachusetts mens soccer team (4-4-1) fell to FDU (6-2-1), 2-1, on Wednesday evening at Rudd Field. A late goal in the 87th proved to be the dagger for the Knights.

Henry Hutchinson netted the lone goal for the Minutemen in the 48th minute, heading in a header feed from Shane Velez. Hutchinson scored his second goal for the Maroon and White, and moved into the team lead in points (two goals, two assists).

Velez's assist was his first of the season, and eighth of his career.

Each team recorded a shot on net in the first 10 minutes of action, with both goalkeepers making saves to keep the contest scoreless.

Garrison Murphy found a hole in the FDU defensive unit, by narrowly missed right of the goal post in the 65th minute.
The Knights scored in the 87th minute to effectively end the contest 2-1.
